FULL IRISH ROAD TRIP

Since our first road trip as a family went successfully we were determined to try our chances once again.

The road trip to Ireland was completely Debeli’s idea But it was my suggestion. After a successful last years trip to Italy and Spain, I KNEW that we will do something very similar, very soon. Luckily, we still had some fathers leave leftovers and working as a tour guide my holiday had to be split into few weeks during off season as well, not just summer season.

I decided if we would to go to the south of Europe later in the year, off season, we might as well do some North Europe trip during the peak hot summer time. I laid my offers to Debeli. Road trip through Ireland. Or Scotland. He decided on Ireland.

His task was to get the flight tickets, pick the stops along the way, book accommodation and a car.
Mine was to select and book the activities and search for eating locations as well. Optional, but still mandatory was to find a castle for an overnight stay. There was no chance in hell that I would miss that opportunity. And I tell, ya’ that was not an easy task. But more on that, when the time comes. For now, let’s just break the facts that during that in during the two week trip:
We drove 1800 kilometers
We have traveled over ten cities in two states (Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland)
We have stayed overnight in 11 locations
We have slept in a castle and gypsy carriages
We have visited the Cliffs of Moher and Belfast once again but now as a family of three
We ate a lot of full Irish breakfasts and too much potato
We drank gallons of beer, gin and whiskey
We met a couple from Zagreb and got to chat, but not fully understand a bunch of locals. And sheep 🙂
We got wet in the rain every single day and
M got on a phone call every time there was a phone machine in our room.
Not bad for a family trip 🚗

It all started with a direct flight from Oslo to Dublin on a second day of July. Although wanting to see Dublin again, there was no time to spare, as we had to pick our rental to start our journey from – Kilkenny. Let’s go ->
