DRØBAK AQUARIUM

After a visit to the Oscarsborg fortress we came back to Drøbak; a small town in Oslofjord with some 13 000 inhabitants. It used to be the winter harbor of Oslo when during harsh winters the fjord would freeze from outside Drøbak all the way up to the capital. Today it is a very popular tourist spot not just for foreigners but also for Norwegians.

An aquarium with local species of fishes, shellfish and crabs that live in the Oslofjord is situated in the harbour so we payed 60 nok per capita and looked around. The aquarium is really small but the specimens were amazing. We saw so many strange, beautiful, ugly and unusual fishes.

 

After the visit to the aquarium, we went for lunch and ordered some fish. How convenient 🙂

Anyhow, we stopped by at Skipperstuen somewhere around 4 o’clock. Late lunch was just about to finish and they still hadn’t started serving dinner. The terrace was full and it started to be windy so we went inside. Debeli ordered dagens lunsj with baked salmon, carrots and cold potatoes and I decided to go with creamy fish soup.

Both dishes are served with some bread and aioli sauce. We got nothing until asked for it. The salmon was quite good and my soup was a huge bowl of foamy soup with vegetables, mussels, red and white fish. Not bad, but way too much of it. And even more expensive (255nok) than the daily lunch (235nok). I mean they could have split that in half (both in price and serving) and I would have ordered soup and the main course. Nevertheless, we weren’t offered no desert or coffee so we took of to catch a boat from Son to Oslo. This time we boarded on time 🙂

DRØBAK AKVARIJUM

Nakon posjeta Oscarsborg tvrđavi vratili smo se nazad u Drøbak; gradić u Oslofjordu koji broji nekih 13 000 stanovnika. Nekad je grad služio kao zimska luka za grad Oslo kad bi se fjord, za vrijeme oštrih zima, duboko u unutrašnjosti zamrznuo. Danas je to popularno turističko odredište ne samo za strance, već i za domaće. Zamislite Norvežane koji se rode i velik dio života provedu na sjeveru zemlje, pa ljeti dođu malo osunčat blijeda dupeta na jug zemlje.

Akvarij, s primjerima lokalnih vrsta riba, školjaka i rakova što žive u Oslo fjordu, smješten je u luci. Ulaz je 60 kruna po glavi, tako da smo malo prošvrljali okolo. Akvarij je vrlo mali, ali ribe su fantastične. Ja sam se zalijepila za prvi bazen i skoro sam ušla u njega da isprevrćem svo kamenje pod kojim su se ribe sakrile. Vidjeli smo puno čudnih, lijepih, ružnih i začuđujuće divnih riba. Fascinantno što se krije pod mirnom površinom mora. Priznajem neke ribe ne bih rado srela 🙂

Nakon posjeta akvariju, otišli smo na ručak u obližnji restoran i naručili ribu. Prigodno, jel te?

Navratili smo u Skipperstuen negdje oko 4 popodne. Kasni ručak je baš bio na izmaku, a večera se još nije počela posluživati. Terasa je bila krcata, a kako je usput počelo puhati, ušli smo u unutrašnjost restorana. Debeli je naručio dnevni ručak: losos s pečenom mrkvom i hladnim krumpirima, a ja sam se odlučila za kremastu riblju juhu. Oba jela poslužuju se uz malo kruha i aioli (ekstremno popularan umak ovdje – kombinacija majoneze i češnjaka), ali mi nismo dobili ništa dok nismo zatražili. Losos je bio dobro pečen, dok je moja juha, u ogromnom tanjuru, bila pjenasta juhica s povrćem, dagnjama, bijelom i crvenom ribom. Neloše, ali porcija je stvarno bila ogromna. Cijena još ogromnija (255 noklica), što je bilo skuplje čak i od dnevnog jela (235 nok). Mislim, mogli su podijeliti porciju na pola i poslužiti oboje uz neku normalnu cijenu. Definitivno bih, u tom slučaju, naručila i juhu i glavno jelo. No, dobro. Desert i kava nam nisu ponuđeni tako da smo se ustali i otišli na brod. Ovaj put, ukrcali smo se na vrijeme 🙂
